What is Broadway Hometown Partnership?
Broadway Hometown Partnership (BHP) is a local organization consisting
of local business people, community leaders, and caring individuals
who are committed to returning Broadway to a vibrant economic and
social center.
Who Should Join the Partnership?
BHP is seeking the support of the people and friends of Broadway.
Businesses, Individuals, Families, Clubs and Organizations. In short,
we need the help of anyone who shares our ambition for a strong and
vital community. In one year, Broadway Hometown Partnership has laid
the foundation for a revitalized Broadway; if we are to build upon
this foundation, we will need your help. You can support this important
work by joining us as a Charter Member.
How Can I Become a Member of the Partnership?
You can become a member by joining BHP with a donation. Just fill
out the form, select your level of membership and send in your contribution.
Your assistance will aid us in creating a vibrant economic and social
setting for our community while maintaining its small town atmosphere.
Joining Broadway Hometown Partnership is a statement to everyone around
that you support your community and you believe that it can again
be a center of activity. Your membership will be good until January
15, 2004. The membership levels suggested below are simply a guide.
Please feel free to donate as you choose to Broadway Hometown Partnership.
Why Should I Contribute?
Because belonging to BHP is an investment in your community. Your
support allows BHP to continue to improve the services it provides
to everyone in Broadway. BHP is only partially supported by government
funding and we cannot continue without the generous financial assistance
of individual people like you!
By becoming a member of BHP, you have let everyone know that you
have enjoyed and would support more:
- Increased downtown activity like our Farmers’ Market, Halloweenfest,
Valley Bluegrass Festival, and the Great Egg Hunt (see Event
Calendar).
- Creation of a Unique Shopping Experience in Broadway including
the recruitment of new businesses and the enhancement of existing
businesses.
- Beautification of Broadway through renovated buildings, assistance
in public beautification efforts, sensitive controlled new growth
and construction as well as protection of our agricultural land.
- Renewed sense of community identity and pride in Broadway.
If you love and support the Community the way that we do and you
want to see, shop, and be part of a thriving Broadway now and in the
future you will want to help Broadway Hometown Partnership preserve
our past and create our future.
Why Should My Business Contribute?
Small Business Start-Up Advertising Grants—Broadway
Hometown Partnership realizes that small businesses face a particularly
difficult challenge when first starting. Proven track records have
not yet been established and advertising is neglected due to low initial
revenues. As a result, BHP has taken the necessary steps to establish
grants for businesses that have located within the Town of Broadway
within the last four years to assist with these dilemmas. Grants will
not exceed $1,000 for any applicant and documented evidence of advertising
expenditures must be presented. A committee selected by Broadway Hometown
Partnership shall award no more than ten grants.
Cooperative Advertising Program—An initiative
has been completed that will save Broadway businesses nearly 20% on
advertising costs in the North Fork Journal. Titled the “Broadway
Advertising Partnership,” BHP has created a cooperative advertising
program where by pooling Broadway businesses together money can be
saved by reducing the rate per column inch. On average a business
that runs a 3x3 ad twice per month will save over $250 annually.
Marketing Grant—Broadway Hometown Partnership
applied for and received a grant in the amount $65,000 from the USDA
Rural Development’s Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG) program.
Broadway Hometown Partnership will use RBEG funds to implement a marketing
program intended to conduct advertising, public relations and other
promotional programs for the purpose of assisting small or emerging
businesses located or locating in the Town of Broadway. This program
will be performed in a manner to stimulate economic growth utilizing
forms of advertisement to attract new consumers to existing business
and recruitment of new business, further solidifying Broadway as an
economically viable business location.
Free Business Webpages—Broadway Hometown Partnership
has made possible for every Broadway business to have a web presence.
By offering free webpages, Broadway Hometown Partnership has given
every business free advertising twenty four hours a day and seven
days a week. With the growing dependence upon the web for information
these project should prove to be invaluable.
